Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about using CryptoClean

General

What is CryptoClean?

CryptoClean is a tool that converts cryptocurrency transaction exports from different exchanges into a single, standardized format. This makes it easier to prepare taxes, track portfolios, or analyze trading data across multiple exchanges.

Do I need to create an account?

No. CryptoClean works without any account or signup. Simply upload your file, pay, and download your results. We believe in privacy-first design.

How fast is the conversion?

Most files are processed in under 15 seconds. Files with up to 10,000 transactions typically complete in under 30 seconds.

Supported Exchanges

Which exchanges do you support?

Currently we support Coinbase and Binance. Support for Kraken and KuCoin is coming soon. We're continuously adding more exchanges based on user demand.

Will you add support for my exchange?

Probably! We prioritize exchanges based on user requests. Contact us with your exchange name and we'll add it to our roadmap.

How do I export my transactions from exchanges?

Each exchange has its own export process. For Coinbase, go to Reports > Transaction History > Generate Report. For Binance, go to Wallet > Transaction History > Export. Check our How It Works page for detailed guides.

File Formats

What file formats can I upload?

We accept CSV files exported directly from supported exchanges. The maximum file size is 10MB, supporting up to 10,000 transactions per file.

What output formats are available?

You can download your standardized data in both CSV and Excel (XLSX) formats. Both contain the same data in our standardized schema.

What does the output schema look like?

Our standardized schema includes: timestamp, exchange, pair, type (buy/sell/transfer/etc), amount_in, amount_out, fee, fee_currency, price, txid, and notes. This consistent format works across all exchanges.

Pricing

How much does it cost?

CryptoClean costs $4.99 per file. There are no subscriptions or hidden fees. You only pay when you need to convert a file.

Why not a subscription model?

Most people only need to convert files a few times a year, typically during tax season. We don't think it's fair to charge monthly for something you use annually.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and Apple Pay through our secure payment processor.

Can I get a refund?

You only pay after we successfully process your file. If we can't process it, you won't be charged. If you have issues with a processed file, contact our support.

Security & Privacy

Is my data secure?

Yes. All uploads and downloads use HTTPS encryption. Your files are processed securely and automatically deleted within 24 hours.

Do you store my transaction data?

No. We process your data in memory and delete all files within 24 hours. We never store your transaction history permanently or sell your data.

Do you share data with third parties?

Never. Your financial data stays between you and CryptoClean. We don't sell, share, or monetize user data in any way.

Troubleshooting

My file upload failed. What should I do?

Ensure your file is a valid CSV exported directly from a supported exchange. Check that it's under 10MB and contains fewer than 10,000 transactions. If issues persist, contact support.

The conversion is taking too long.

Large files with many transactions may take up to 30 seconds. If processing exceeds a minute, try refreshing and uploading again. If the problem continues, contact us.

Some transactions are missing from the output.

We process all valid transactions in your file. Check if the original export includes all the transactions you expected. Some exchanges exclude certain transaction types from exports.

How do I contact support?

You can reach us through our Contact page. We typically respond within 24 hours on business days.
